Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center
Welcome to The University of Toledo’s Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center.
One team. One place. One patient at a time.
Our innovative new center is different from others. We offer consultation, diagnosis, chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and other related treatments, technology and specialties housed in one center of excellence. This distinguishes us from programs where patients can see one specialist on their first visit, and go elsewhere on subsequent occasions.
What makes us different:
Cancer treatment at the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center incorporates some of the latest technology and best tools. They include the area's first TrueBeam™ Varian Linear Accelerator, which dramatically reduces the length of radiation treatments. We also offer a permanently installed PET/CT scanner, a critical tool for monitoring the possible spread of cancer once you are diagnosed. As an academic institution we also offer our patients access to experimental treatments and therapies through clinical trials that they can't find elsewhere.
We use an interdisciplinary team approach - the first of its kind in our community. When you come to us, you'll receive a treatment plan from the full range of cancer specialists appropriate for your disease, and our clinician will guide you through all the steps of your care.
In addition to helping you conquer cancer, we're guided by two very important goals: reducing your anxiety and fostering your empowerment. The more you know about your health, the less anxious you’ll feel and the more empowered you can be.
