Stating your wishes regarding Medical Treatment
Many people today worry about the medical care they would get if they became too sick to make their wishes known. Some people may not want to spend months or years dependent on life support. Others may want every step taken to lengthen life. University of Toledo Medical Center recognizes that every competent adult has the right to determine what shall be done to his/her person. This includes the right to execute Advance Medical Directives.

The Ohio State Law recognizes the Living Will, the Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare and the DNRCC (Do Not Resuscitate Comfort Care). To obtain forms to complete these directives call Admitting at 419-383-3881 or see an admitting representative located in the hospital lobby.

Gift Shop
The Satellites Gift Shop is located on the first floor of the hospital near the Cafeteria. Beautiful flowers, unique gifts, sundries and collectibles await you. Fresh flowers are not permitted in the Intensive Care areas. The Gift Shop, Café Ala Cart and Cafeteria are located on the first floor down the hall from the main hospital lobby.

8:30am – 8:00pm CLOSED 11:00am – 4:00pm

Medical Records
Please be aware that all information in your medical record is strictly confidential and only pertinent information will be available to appropriate members of the health care team in order to provide treatment, facilitate payment of bill and to monitor and assess hospital functions.

Interpreter Services
If you require an interpreter to understand hospital procedures, diagnosis, condition or treatment, the hospital will provide this service without charge. Call the Customer Care Center at 419-383-3606 to request assistance.

Other devices to assist you are also available to patients free of charge. Call the Customer

Care Center at 419-383-3606 for battery operated units to enhance human voice.

Patient Transport
Wheelchair and stretcher services are available for University of Toledo Medical Center patients.  Please make arrangements in advance by contacting transport services dispatch at 419-383-5007.  You will also find transport services available in the hospital’s main lobby, outpatient surgery center corridor and at Ruppert Health Center.

Pastoral Care    
Pastoral Care is available by calling Ext. 3851 or by dialing the hospital operator and requesting Pastoral Care. Not only are Pastoral Care clergy or trained volunteers available to you, but your own pastor is welcome to visit you at any time. Please let us know if we can help you with any of your spiritual needs.

Pharmacy
The UTMC outpatient pharmacy prepares and dispenses medications for patients, as well as students, employees, volunteers and employees of University of Toledo.
