Observation & Service Hours

Do you need help deciding about a career in health care or need to satisfy community service hours?

Volunteer at MUOThe Office of Volunteer Services at The University of Toledo Medical Center has designed volunteer assignments to provide you with an opportunity to assist patients and their guests while observing health-care professionals in action.

The Student Observation and Service Program is designed for those students who are required to fulfill their high school community service requirements. Toledo area guidance counselors are quick to point out this requirement helps students begin to make independent decisions regarding their future. This program also serves:

  • To introduce the students to volunteer opportunities in the community, and
  • Requires the student to take the initiative to obtain a professional mentor and achieve their commitment.
To start the process complete the Observation and Service Hours Enrollment, your mentor is required to complete the Observation & Service Hours section, provide proof of a TB test, and contact the Volunteer office to register for the program and obtain your identification badge.
