da Vinci Surgical System

What is da Vinci Prostatectomy?

Approximately 16% of American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer sometime in their life. The da Vinci® S HDSurgical System is a new alternative method to removing the prostate, a procedure most often utilized when abnormalities, such as a tumor, restrict the normal flow of urine.

If your doctor recommends surgery to treat your prostate cancer, you may be a candidate for the da Vinci Prostatectomy. Traditional, “open” prostatectomy surgery requires the surgeon to make a manual, 5-inch incision. The da Vinci® S HD™ Surgical System provides the precise technology to instead make five ¼-inch precise cuts.
