Meet Our Pediatricians


David Krol, M.D., M.P.H., Chair 
Dr. Krol is board certified in pediatrics. He earned his medical degree from Yale University and a master's of public health from Columbia University. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland. He also completed fellowships in child development and social policy at the Yale University Bush Center and the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at Yale.  His clinical special interests include general pediatrics, oral health and child advocacy. His research interests are oral healh, health services and child health services research.



Cathi Badik, M.D.
Dr. Brace received her medical degree and completed her pediatric residency at The Medical University of Ohio. She is originally from Northeast Ohio. She is married and mother of one son. She enjoys spending time with family, crocheting, and reading.

 

 


 

Joan Griffith, M.D., M.H.A.
Dr. Griffith is an associate professor and Chief of the Division of General Pediatrics. Dr. Griffith is board certified in both general pedaitrics and adolescent medicine. Her most recent position was in the Univ. of Kentucky Division of General Pediatrics. Prior to joining UT, Dr. Griffith spent 21 years as a pediatrician in the US Air Force, retiring a full colonel. She served as chief of staff for the USAF HMO and chief of pediatrics amongts other high offices. She is a published author, speaker and guest lecturere. She was selected for the Commonwealth Fund/Harvard Univ. Fellowship in Minority Health Policy and earned her Masters in Public Health in June 2007.


 

Valarie Stricklen, M.D.
Dr. Stricklen completed her medical school and residency training at the University of Toledo. She has particular interest in newborn care. She is recently married and enjoys spending time with her son, husband and three dogs.

 


Mary Beth Wroblewski, M.D.
Dr. Wroblewski is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Pediatric Residency Program.  She served as chief resident of pediatrics.  She has a strong interest in helping faculty reach higher levels of teaching ability.  She is married and has two children. 

 

Eliza McCartney, C.P.N.P.     
Mrs. McCartney is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She received nursing degrees from Marquette University and University of Michigan. In addition to practicing in primary care pediatrics, she also teaches in the UT College of Nursing.  Eliza sees children and families for well care and sick visits, as well as for education and counseling in areas such as nutrition and parenting. She is married and has two grown sons. Eliza enjoys gardening, reading and time with her family.
