Services Provided
All tests ordered require accurate cardiac diagnosis.
EKG 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM
No need for an appointment, but the patient must have a completed order signed by the physician. The patient requires no preparation. This test takes approximately 5 - 10 minutes to complete in the Heart Station. (Can have operator beep tech or overhead page if they are needed be fore 7am or after 5pm.)
ECHO 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
These are schedule tests. Must have a complete order signed by the physician. No preparation for a Routine Echo. This takes approximately 1 hour in the Heart Station.
TEE 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM
These are scheduled procedures. Must call the Heart Station 383-3899. Patient needs to have nothing by mouth for 8 hours. The outpatient should have been notified and instructions given by the Heart Station echo tech. The patient is to go to The FIRST FLOOR Information Desk to register, and then sit in Cath Lab waiting area. An RN from Cath Lab will get the patient. This procedure takes approximately 4 - 6 hours in the Cath Lab Holding area. This includes pre time, sedation, test, and recovery.
EXERCISE STRESS ECHO 8:00 AM
These are scheduled procedures. Must have a completed order signed by the physician. There are Exercise Stress Echoes for people who can walk on the treadmill. Dobutamine Stress Echoes for patients who are unable to walk on the treadmill. The patient needs to be NPO for 4 hours. No smoking, or beverages containing caffeine, not even decaf coffee. The test takes approximately 1 1/2 hours.
DOBUTAMINE STRESS ECHO 12:30 PM
These are scheduled procedures for patient who cannot walk on the treadmill. An accurate diagnosis as to why they cannot walk is necessary.
The patient needs to have nothing by mouth for 4 hours. No smoking, or beverages containing caffeine, not even decaf coffee. Patient will receive an IV. This test takes approximately 1 1/2 hours.
ROUTINE EXERCISE STRESS TEST 8 AM
These are scheduled procedures. Must have a completed order signed by the physician. Must have nothing by mouth for 2 hours. No smoking or beverages containing caffeine. Wear comfortable clothes. This test takes approximately 1 hour.
CARDIAC NUCLEAR PROCEDURES 7 AM to 3:30 PM
Pharmacological Stress /Persantine Myoview Stress Test
Need reason why they cannot walk on a treadmill.
Exercise Stress/Myoview Stress Test
These are scheduled procedures. Must have a completed order signed by the physician. Must have nothing by mouth for 2 hours. Patient will receive an IV, must be able to lie flat. Must be able to raise arms above head. These tests take about 3 1/2 - 4 hours.
HOLTERS / EVENT RECORDERS 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
No need for an appointment. Must have a completed order signed by the physician. No preparation is required. This takes about 15 minutes for the Holter and approximately 30 minutes to explain the event recorder.
TILT TABLE TESTING
These are done Mondays and Thursdays at 8:30 am, 10:30am, 12:30pm, and 2:00 pm. Must have nothing by mouth for 6 - 8 hours. Patient will receive an IV.
This test takes approximately 1 - 2 hours.

All of these tests (except EKG, Holter and Event Recorders) need to be scheduled with our receptionists at (419) 383-3925. Instructions will be given at the time the test is order. If further instruction is necessary, the patient will be contacted.
