Your First Visit

We want to make your experience at the orthopaedic center as stress-free as possible.

From the moment you make that first phone call to set up an appointment, you will be treated respectfully and compassionately by everyone from the receptionist and the x-ray technician to your medical team. It's what you should expect - and what you deserve.

Here are some tips to make your first visit go smoothly. Please contact us at 419.383.3761 with any questions you may have.

Scheduling an appointment

Our specialists see patients 7 days a week, with same-day appointments available. To schedule an appointment, call 419.383.3761.

What to bring with you

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Insurance card
  • List of current medications and their doses

What to wear

Please dress so that the body part you are having trouble with can be easily examined and/or x-rayed. If you have a knee, hip or spine problem, please wear or bring shorts to your appointment.

If you are having shoulder or elbow problems, please wear a singlet or a top that has few buttons.

When you get to the orthopaedic center

Valet parking is available from 7 am to 5 pm for $3 and free for patrons with handicap permits.

Then register at the front desk and grab a coffee or hot chocolate while you wait.

Orthopaedic X-rays

Your doctor most likely will require x-rays during you initial evaluation or over the course of your treatment to evaluate your progress. At The University of Toledo Medical Center's Orthopaedic Center, diagnosis x-rays are available on site for prompt evaluation and patient convenience.

X-rays are usually arranged as part of your scheduled orthopaedic appointment preparation. Please bring in any x-rays of the relevant body part that have been ordered by other physicians.
