Digestive System Cancers

The digestive system, also known as the gastrointestinal system, is made up of several organs joined in a long tube that runs from the mouth to the anus. It also includes other organs that help break down nutrients and eliminate waste.

Digestive system cancer can affect the colon, esophagus, stomach, rectum, anus, liver and pancreas. It usually develops slowly and can be difficult to detect.
